LEAGUE RULES

We are a bunch of Brats who want to host and play in a fun no drama zone. Please help us by taking time to read this page and familiarize yourself with the Brats and our rules. Thank you.

Any member or host who gets caught using the Brats membership to recruit for another league, either by e-mail, IM, in lobby or at a table will be immediately removed from Canasta Brats and they will be banned from future membership.and reported to MYLEAGUE.

We won't tolerate verbal abuse towards other members or our hosts. If you have a problem with a player ask the host to a table as soon as possible. If you have a problem with a host, feel free to contact any Admin member on line and we will be glad to hear your concerns.

Common courtesy: We would like to ask all Brats to be in the lobby for the start of the tourney they jumped. We very rarely start late. Be there so that you can see the rules when run and not have to ask the host to re-run the rules just because you were late getting there. That holds everyone else up unnecessarily. In addition, when jumping doubles, PLEASE be there on time. It is not fair to the rest of the members who jumped to have to wait for you and definitely not fair to your opponent.

Double jumping tourneys is not allowed. If you are in one tourney and sign up for the next tourney before you have been eliminated from the first, the host will remove you if they notice it - if not and your name is called to a table in the second tournament you will be DQ'd in both tournaments. Please notice this does not say you can jump next tour if in final round - that is no longer a rule for this league. Double jumping and intentionally disqualifying in first tourney will be considered an act of poor sportsmanship and will be dealt with accordingly. This is particularly bad in doubles because one of your partners (whether pre-set or jumping Auto) will be left holding the bag because of this disrespect for them.

Please do not discuss disputes of any kind in the lobby. Thank you

We are the guests of Pogo so please keep any suggestive conversations to a minimum. We all like to joke and play around, but we never know when someone's kid is in the lobby working on a badge for Mom or Dad. We can keep it clean and still have fun

Treat others like you want to be treated

Should anyone be unable to follow our simple rules we will have to take action. First offense will result in a warning. Second offense will result in being boxed for 3 days. Third offense will result in being boxed for 7 days. Admin reserves the right to remove any member from the league, with or without 3 offenses, if deemed necessary

Forfeiting Games

Sometimes things come up and we need to leave a game. We all understand that. We simply ask that you announce that you need to forfeit to the host and post accordingly. Intentionally forfeiting games because of poor sportsmanship is not tolerated. It is rude and inconsiderate of your opponent and the rest of the league. If it is noticed you have a record of doing this, you can expect to receive a one time warning letter and/or being boxed and/or kicked from the league - depending upon the severity of the issue.

Timers and Extensions

We allow 2 extensions per round. The 3rd extension is a dq.

We allow 2 timers per tourney - the length of time depends upon the game. In a regular game the first timer is 10 minutes, unless you are in another game. If in another NON-LEAGUE game you are placed on a 5 minute timer. The second timer is 5 minutes. The 3rd timer is a dq. Timers for Swiss regular game tournaments are 5 minutes for the first, 2 minutes for the second, and dq for the third. Timers for 1 or 2 hand games in Swiss tournaments are 2 minutes for the first, 2 minutes for the second, and dq for the third.

Team Play

We do not have a rule in doubles that says people who live in the same household cannot be partners in doubles. We live in this world of Yahoo, Aim, Skype, Twitter, Text phones, .... There is no difference between Hubby and Wife living in the same house playing partners than there is best friends living hundreds of miles apart talking on the telephone while playing.

If anyone truly believes their opponent is cheating they are always welcome to turn that information over to the host for investigation - but we would rather you had a good time in our league, meeting new people, connecting with old friends, and helping us remain the Best Non-Plus League on Cases Ladder.

We are all here to have FUN. Showing respect for one another and keeping the drama out of the rooms is the easiest way to achieve that goal. We appreciate your support and hope you have as much fun as we do!
